My journey to Ladakh ...........

A beautiful place. Beautiful people. It’s a land of the aesthetics.
My journey started from the 28th August and ended on a somewhat very special note on the 7th of September!!
For mom, I was supposedly traveling with college friends, which surely I wasn’t !! With a very close friend of mine, we were on our way to Leh (Ladakh).
We traveled from Delhi till Manali in a Volvo and continued till Leh in another bus.
Airways ply from Delhi till Leh .The buses are the longer route to the desired junction. Are you wondering why we chose the tougher option? I’ll tell you.
The scenery does not match that of any other place I’ve visited. Trust me I’ve not traveled less. I am eighteen and I’ve been more than fifteen hills. But the beauty of valleys and hills ranging from Manali till Ladakh flabbergasted me !!
The color of the snow capped hills for the first time explained me the grace of Snowhite.
Our stay in Leh was in a guesthouse run by a local Ladakhi lady. The scheme of guesthouses in Ladakh is highly enticing. This is because the rooms are decorated in the proper Ladakhi style. It consists of beds on the floor with attractively decorated Kashmiri and Ladakhi decors.
The locals are very gracious with their efforts to help out the tourists. It is the only place where people would step out of their way to put you back on your track.
The only trouble I encountered there was because of the food. There are merely any options for the vegetarians!
Shopping !! My favorite hobby !! They allow bargaining at its best !! I was not left with any money by the end of the trip as everything had been devoted to shopping !!
There are royal palaces situated on heights which very few prefer to travel on foot. I was one of the lazy tourists. I wonder why the kings preferred to live on such heights, especially when the invention of elevators did not take place. Phew !! Its tiring. Probably that is the reason there very few royal people left in the world.
Anyway, the palaces are rich with its history of Kings & the Queens. Although there was no one to describe the story of the buildings( we took no guide with us!!) , they seemed to speak their own story.
From my perspective, it has been an enlightening experience, both physically (yeah I’ve reduced a lot there) ∧ spiritually !!
On our way back, the snowfall took a toll on us. It delayed our return to Delhi by one day !! The only good thing about the snowfall was that the hills which we saw green in the previous journey were all white by now.

Probably my friend was right.

Everything that happens, happens for the good !!
