This Diwali, while strolling on the roads, a strange realization took place deep within me.

Diwali was celebrated with great pomp and show last night with the houses embellished and the local crowd in the best of their apparels. What just escaped our celebration were the poverty stricken kids asking for alms all day, on the traffic lights which only compelled them into believing that the festive delights are maybe just not their cup of tea.
Crowd was not in a big number on the road yesterday. A reason maybe that would satisfy was that the most celebrated places for people (that would be some mall) were shut down by early evening.
Even if someone had wanted to go to some good place to have fun, one was left with no chance but to return home. But here come the needy to the rescue. Yes, the misfortunate vegetable vendors and some local street food vendors still awaited the arrival of Goddess Laxmi, who for them was in disguise of customers. It was only the lamentable plight of these vendors that they were obligated to work even on the celebration day. Very ironic was the fact that a major part of the city was graced with the expensive decoration, and people rolled up in designer apparels, and covered with fumes of crackers, while the other hapless minority was busy finding some reason and a way to celebrate the occasion. Yet the minor majority seemed pretty content in their way to enjoy the jubilation.
Perhaps it’s just the Almighty who finally decided to strike some balance between the world of the poor and the rich making the miserable feel the contentment of the festivity.

This guy, who bores me !!

Always, there is this guy who speaks, just speaks. He doesn’t talk.

Amused by this rare variety, sometimes it is good to listen to him. I would reason that I never get a chance to mock. (Not because I don’t find such people dumb, but because seems to me that they are too much of a waste of time. Yeah, even to be mocked at!!). Anyway, so he is one of a kind who actually interests me. Speaking my mind “they should be charged for being listened to”.

I encounter such jerks every morning. Studying Communication requires one to talk to diversities. Unfortunately, this variety of “the dumb and boring” survives in masses. Pathos.

Surely, now this guy is something of an experience. I bet all of us have at least one of such variety in our respective workplaces, schools, colleges and maybe even be having one such of a family member (then I pity you)!!

Usually our (at least mine!!) day starts with getting late for college. Making an achievement, almost equivalent to winning a name in Guinness Book of world records, by reaching the target just on time, this hell of a scoundrel comes bothering “You know you reached just on time. Blah. Blah. Blah…………” Knowing the fact already, this guy is rescued from a fist, because the class starts. The temper within cools and softly, ends. And the day begins.

The present scenario of the T.V. is not very enticing.
Thanks to the new adventurous taste of the viewers, abhorrent T.V. shows are being aired. Besides being
displeasing, lately they have also started being vulgar and crude in taste. Taking Splits villa for example, it consisted of everyone and everything, which could be unpleasant in taste. The contestants were asked to use insults, which ironically proved to be a great put off and gradually resulted in a decline in their TRP.

India’s got talent has a desi cousin “ Entertainment ke liye kuch bhi karega” whose parentage/lineage is very uncertain………

Aped from the American T.V. show “The Moment Of Truth”, its Indian version “Sach Ka Saamna” has successfully gained TRP, pestering its rich and famous contestants to get richer, revealing embarrassing to its core truth of their life. Not only is it traumatizing to watch them divulge their life’s few kept secrets to the world for money, but also it is disgraceful for them.
Unfortunately and obviously, the actual reality shows like “AAP KI KACHEHRI” are unable to find viewers owing to the cheap and real reality of the “poor”.
Seems even the misfortune of the rich has made them earn a ransom fortune out of it. Isn’t it so?
Maybe, its somewhere us who are failing to distinguish between the truth and expected truth. What we see on the television today is what we someday wanted to see.
So where do we draw the line now? Well, perhaps it is time that we have an eye for better entertainment.

The Rising SUN.......

A beautiful place. Beautiful people. It’s a land of the aesthetics.
My journey started from the 28th August and ended on a somewhat very special note on the 7th of September!!
For mom, I was supposedly traveling with college friends, which surely I wasn’t !! With a very close friend of mine, we were on our way to Leh (Ladakh).
We traveled from Delhi till Manali in a Volvo and continued till Leh in another bus.
Airways ply from Delhi till Leh .The buses are the longer route to the desired junction. Are you wondering why we chose the tougher option? I’ll tell you.
The scenery does not match that of any other place I’ve visited. Trust me I’ve not traveled less. I am eighteen and I’ve been more than fifteen hills. But the beauty of valleys and hills ranging from Manali till Ladakh flabbergasted me !!
The color of the snow capped hills for the first time explained me the grace of Snowhite.
Our stay in Leh was in a guesthouse run by a local Ladakhi lady. The scheme of guesthouses in Ladakh is highly enticing. This is because the rooms are decorated in the proper Ladakhi style. It consists of beds on the floor with attractively decorated Kashmiri and Ladakhi decors.
The locals are very gracious with their efforts to help out the tourists. It is the only place where people would step out of their way to put you back on your track.
The only trouble I encountered there was because of the food. There are merely any options for the vegetarians!
Shopping !! My favorite hobby !! They allow bargaining at its best !! I was not left with any money by the end of the trip as everything had been devoted to shopping !!
There are royal palaces situated on heights which very few prefer to travel on foot. I was one of the lazy tourists. I wonder why the kings preferred to live on such heights, especially when the invention of elevators did not take place. Phew !! Its tiring. Probably that is the reason there very few royal people left in the world.
Anyway, the palaces are rich with its history of Kings & the Queens. Although there was no one to describe the story of the buildings( we took no guide with us!!) , they seemed to speak their own story.
From my perspective, it has been an enlightening experience, both physically (yeah I’ve reduced a lot there) ∧ spiritually !!
On our way back, the snowfall took a toll on us. It delayed our return to Delhi by one day !! The only good thing about the snowfall was that the hills which we saw green in the previous journey were all white by now.

Probably my friend was right.

Everything that happens, happens for the good !!
